Originals in Pencil

PRESS RELEASE

June 2021

With the theme around freedom after lockdown, 18 eye-catching original pieces drew in coloured pencils by Victoria Ballard are in exhibition at The Bull in Wrotham.

When Victoria Ballard, a Wrotham based artist, was invited by the owners of her local pub, The Bull Hotel, to exhibit her drawings – Victoria jumped at the chance.

The Bull Hotel in Wrotham, a beautiful pub, hotel and wedding venue, is owned by Lygia and Martin Deadman and, like all hospitality venues, they have had to navigate through the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.  However, now with the easing of lockdown and the opportunity to once again offer dining and events inside, they wanted to continue their ethos of supporting local and offered the main wall in their dining area to Victoria.

Victoria was given free rein for the subject matter but felt it poignant to base the theme around freedom after lockdown.  Victoria has drawn 18 eye-catching pieces to compliment the sentimental words:

“Never has it been more important to support local, chat & laugh, be together, celebrate and eat out!”

Victoria and Lygia are planning to develop their partnership further including offering Victoria’s design service to wedding, private dining and special event clients.

If you wish to see the display just come to The Bull Hotel during opening hours. Further details about Victoria’s work can be found at www.originalsinpencil.co.uk

“I am so flattered to have my artwork on display at The Bull” says Victoria of Originals in Pencil.  “It is a fabulous opportunity for me to showcase my work and hopefully inspire visitors to commission unique treasured pieces of their own”.
